" I came to sculpture by a very circuitous route" admits Aprille Best Glover, Infected with the HIV virus in the early eighties her life has been colored by her battles with illness and the loss of her son to AIDS in 1991. A Florida native, she works in a variety of mediums ranging from traditional bronze and stone sculpture to mixed media installations. She coauthored a book of children's drawings and stories called "Be A Friend: Children with HIV Speak" from Albert Whitman & Co. publishing house and a book of art and poetry "Split Down A Curving Middle." |
