An alternate take on praying

If you arrived at this page by searching for a name of a person in google, then someone is thinking of you. Someone is praying for you. To make the list easy for search engines to index, it is simple text but you can search the list by last name. If you want to pray for someone, you have a number of different ways to do so. If you or someone you care about needs a prayer, ask. This is a secular, all-faith prayer book so if you want to give a strictly religious prayer follow links to religous prayer sites. Becuase this involve as my search for meaning in quirks of the internet some things getting prayed for might seem irreverent on the surface but honestly who or what doesn't need a prayer?

Post-pilgramage Mind Work

After walking the pilgrimage Lavardin, France to Santiago, Spain with my husband I should have by rights been on a high. The walk was incredible, the sculpture I'm forming from my footsteps engrossing, but a boat load of the disease kind flatten me. Three months bedbound left me dripping tears like a tree after rain in the doctor's office. So needless to say I haven't check my stats on my site in months. I discovered today my Obortive blog is channeling prayer google style. Thank you, www. You have no idea how much it needed those backhanded prayers.

So here is my joy meme for all of you : a real prayer book

Dana PRAYERS FOR DANA

Dear Dana,

I hope this message finds you well and in good spirits. I write you by way of google and a strange quirk of code that sent many people to error in my website linking to or looking for a prayer book. As I looked over my web log of my site I found Cyber Grandma and so found you, Dana. I have been sick myself for several months and somehow those errors that popped up a prayer I needed and somehow couldn't ask for myself.

Death is not a curable disease but life is stronger. Life is not measured by clock and calendars. Be happy every second you can. Not just because that second can be your last but because it can one of a multitudes that will stretch decades into the future. I have had AIDS now for over twenty years and I wanted you know as grim as any prognosis seems at the time sometimes there is a grace that reaches beyond human understanding. As terrible as words like cancer and aids seem on the outside they are also be gifts that can enrich our time on this spinning earth. One finds and loses that inner gift in the pain many times. I sense in an unexplainable way that you are the sort of person with a heart big enough understand that difficult wisdom and to pray for those you have never met and cannot even name. Thank you. I pray with a lighter heart for you and because of you, Dana.

The WWW prays for Library of Congress

Dear Library of Congress

Somehow, I have no idea how, because of an error in a link to prayer book on my website www.aprille.net there is a get command for a file on the exhibit The Russian Church and Native Alaskan Cultures Russion Orthodox Church and Eskimos in Alaska in my weblog. In trying to dicover why I look thru the site pretty completely. It was very interesting; especially how there bilingual education creating a written form for native languages. However, I think you should include at least small thumbnail photo in the articles rather than just written links. The images make more sense with the text than just viewing a black and white jpg file alone. Also in the exhibit there was link back to the main library of congress exhibits page or a way to contact the web master. It may be you are using frames for navigation. Remember many internet users find you thru google and other engines. It is important that all pages contain a way to return to the main site. I enjoyed the article and I am only writing to help improve a superior project.

Note: I have always loved the library of congress as an idea and as a physical place. Don't you love the idea of praying for our collected written wisdom and folly as a people?

Dear Marie Stuart Society,

I received a large number of errors on my website over a link to a prayer book, reviewing my web log one seemed to come from your site. There is a file image/prayer_book.jpeg on your site. Is this something to do with Mary Stuart (Coolish site by the way. I haven't read about Mary, Queen of Scots since school) or are you praying for a member on the member's only section. I am trying to track why I'm getting all these wierd errors.

Thanks and have a great day.

Peter PETER COLLINGWOOD

dear Peter,

The sinews that hold the internet together are as strange and varied as the odd as the world itself. I have had a lot of problems with errors on my site of late (too long, technical to bother explaining but after having more or less the same site with relatively few it was unusually to suddenly have so so many.)Thus while exploring my log file, I found the most poetic of searches this is as instructive to me as my forgotten thought from which I thankfully received several hits. Unable to resist I tried the same phrase in google.com. It turns out you and I are both artists and indeed the only sites on that particular google search even remotely to do with Pascal. It's almost like a fable to use a spider program to accidentally find a weaver.

I write you to tell you what a queer little nook we share and to let you know that page has no direct link back to you main website only forward to the next prose poem. It might be useful for you to include such a link on that page, www.petercollingwood.co.uk/prose_24.htm, since people arrive on the web by very circuitous routes.

I enjoy your factoids on Pascal particularly about Pascal climbing the tower as an experiment. Did you know he built the first computer? It is still in a museum in Paris. I would also like to ask you why you think Pascal was a skeptic about religion. I myself found Pascal's Penees to be a book of such desperate belief in spite of his reason struggling with faith. It is part of why I was so fascinated with the book. This isn't asked to make argument or suggest any special insight on my part but because it seems we may be the only two non-academics who even think about Pascal at all anymore and I'm notoriously curious.

Well work too hard, think too much, and have way way too much fun,
Aprille
